Trapstax is an abstract strategy game where players aim to outmaneuver their opponent by stacking pieces strategically. The game requires careful planning within the constraint of a 50-move limit.

A match of Trapstax can be swiftly completed in just 15 minutes when played in real time mode. Alternatively, players can opt for a more thoughtful approach, engaging in turn-based gameplay that unfolds over several days.

The gameplay rules are straightforward. On each turn, players can move stacks either horizontally or vertically, jump a stack over a smaller one, or place a stack atop an equal or larger stack.

Reminiscent of classic board games like chess and checkers, Trapstax introduces elements of logical reasoning as the match progresses, with each decision gaining heightened significance as the move limit draws near.

The game features leaderboards that showcase a unique rating system along with statistics on wins, draws, and losses. Additionally, there is a specific leaderboard highlighting games completed with the fewest number of moves—the ultimate challenge for strategic players seeking efficiency.
